God Memo

God Memos are messages sent to King Corobo by God before each encounter with a rival king, which each provide information on the battle he is about to face and how best to approach it. They are often accompanied with a crayon-drawn mockup of the boss battle, with moving paper tabs and wheels to animate the drawing. They are found lying on the ground or hanging on a wall near the entrance of each king arena.

God Memos begin with the win condition of each battle, which will simply be to "beat the king to win" in most cases. The Memo then proceeds to outline the structure of the battle, basic strategies, and recommends at least one key job class to have in the Royal Guard that will be of particular use. For example, the God Memo for King Shishkebaboo recommends that Corobo bring Ripped Miners, since a breakable rock stands in the way of the win condition of the fight and Miners are also able to instantly break Shishkebaboo from his stone form. However, God Memos are only a brief overview, and do not inform Corobo of all details and dynamics of each fight, meaning there will be much more for the player to discover on their own once the fight begins.

Once a God Memo is picked up, they can be read again via the Key Items tab on the menu, where each Memo will sit next to its respective king's letter. Additionally, while the usual sub-menu options are absent during king battles, pressing the menu button will pause and instantly bring up the God Memo for the fight, allowing Corobo to revise the information mid-battle without consequence. If Corobo has not collected that fight's God Memo, then the menu button will do nothing and he will be unable to pause the fight.

God Memos

Vs. Onii King!

“God Memo

Strategy for Onii King

Just beat the Onii King to win. He’ll be throwing pots left and right, so be sure not to get hit! If you have citizens with jobs that can shoot down flying objects, it’ll make this battle all the easier.”

Vs. Duvroc!

”God Memo

Strategy for Duvroc

Just beat up Duvroc to win. Break the beer cases under his feet to get to him. He can breath fire and ice at you! Citizens with jobs that can cling on to Duvroc can prevent him from blowing fire and ice at you, so make good use of them.”

Vs. Shishkebaboo!

"God Memo

Strategy for Shishkebaboo

That king will be rolling around, so make sure he doesn't get past. Knock him around to make him burn calories and then push him into the fork at the top. Choose citizens with high HP and who can easily break rocks to help you out.”

Vs. Omelet!

”God Memo

Strategy for Omelet

There’s a total of X* questions in the quiz. Answer all of them to win. Send citizens to an object to answer. You’ll be punished if you are wrong. Those chicken-like things will attack, so have a gourmand handy.”

*There will either be 9 or 10 questions in the fight, and the Memo will display the number accordingly.

Vs. TV Dinnah!

”God Memo

Strategy for TV Dinnah

Just beat TV Dinnah to win. TV Dinnah is hiding out in studios all over the world, so dig holes to find him! Citizens with jobs that are good at digging are a boon, but a job that can find holes will be an even greater help.”

Vs. Long Sauvage!

”God Memo

Strategy for Long Sauvage

Just climb to the top of the mountain and be higher than Long Sauvage to win. You’ll be disqualified if you run out of time so be sure to bring lots of people that can construct bridges for you.”

Vs. Jumbo Champloon!

”God Memo

Strategy for Jumbo Champloon

Just beat up Champloon to win. Jumbo will attach various objects that the Onii bring to him to power up! He’ll vary his attacks, so take a varied crew with you so you can adjust to the constantly changing situation.”
