Tyrant Mode

Tyrant Mode is a bonus difficulty setting exclusive to the US and Japanese versions of Little King's Story, unlocked after the player has completed the game once on any difficulty and saves after the credits. Starting a new file will give the player the option to choose Tyrant Mode, which will be permanently locked to that save file.

In Tyrant Mode, Corobo will have a maximum Life of 1 instead of 3, leaving him permanently old for the whole adventure. Citizens will also start with one health, but can still be upgraded by various means. Pancho will also be able to talk in this mode. Upon beating Tyrant Mode, the player receives a special congratulation message and an extra scene with various characters waving after the credits.

In the Japanese version, this mode is called HELLモード (Hell Mode).
