The Manjaro Cavern (マンジャロ洞窟, Manjaro Doukutsu) is a series of tunnels going through Mount Sobamanjaro in the Tiptoe Kingdom. It is used by King Corobo in order to climb higher up the mountain during his battle with King Long Sauvage.

Geography

The Manjaro Cavern is a dark and misty set of caves within the mountain itself. The Cavern is comprised of many forked paths, some of which lead further into the cave while others lead back outside. The way through is written on a tall sign next to the entrance by a figure called the Regular Mountie. Choosing the correct path six times leads to the exit of the cave further up the mountain. The paths are also blocked by several obstacles: two separate piles of logs, two separate clumps of rocks with a Rocky UMA, and two separate Cockadoodledo guarding the way. At each split path, an arrow sign will point down one of them, but these signs are simply a distraction and do not indicate the true path forward.

Upon returning to the area, both the entrance and exit will be sealed off by wooden planks, rendering the area no longer accessible.

Etymology

"Manjaro" is simply a shortening of Sobamanjaro, which in itself is a reference to Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

Trivia

  • This is one of only three underground areas in Little King's Story, along with the Boney Tunnel and the cave beneath the Small Lot.
  • The Manjaro Cavern appears to load in the sky above Sobamanjaro itself, compared to most other sub-areas that load beyond the sea. This is perhaps to allow it to load more quickly to avoid interrupting the pace of the battle.
