Regular Mountie

The Regular Mountie (お山の一般人, O Yama no Ippan-jin) is an unseen character who writes the directions through the Manjaro Cavern on Mount Sobamanjaro, therefore aiding King Corobo during his battle against King Long Sauvage. After the annexation of the Tiptoe Kingdom, the Cavern is sealed off from both entrances and its sign is taken down, taking the sole mention of the Regular Mountie with it. This Mountie is presumably a low-ranking member of the Sauvage Soldiers.

Etymology

In some other translations (Japanese, French and Italian), the sign appears to be written by a group of people living on the mountain as opposed to one person, since Japanese is ambiguous at marking plurals. These specific translations also suggest that there are peaceful, non-Mountie folk who inhabit the mountain.
