The Sobamanjaro Hiker Registration is a region of the Tiptoe Kingdom that lies at the foot of Mount Sobamanjaro. This is where the mountain trail begins and where King Corobo registers to climb it and defeat King Long Sauvage.

Geography

The Hiker Registration area is accessed via a path from the Sobamanjaro Outskirts. Before entering the area, Corobo is greeted with a Hot Spring and a billboard advertising the mountain path. Heading east leads into the main area, where the ground is dusty and rocky, surrounded by a thick forest of amber trees. The glade is laden with gym equipment such as gym horses, pull-up poles and tyres, most of which are in use by a large gathering of Mounties. The Mounties all talk of how they wish to be taller and attempt to advertise products such as growing cream. Atop the tallest gym horse is the Beard General, who recites the Five Tenets of the Tall Mountain and commands the lower ranking Mounties to move around the area. The mountain path itself is blocked off by a shut railroad gate. Next to this gate is a mysterious stone monument with a blue sheen and a red desk with a Mountie sat behind it. The Mountie will allow Corobo to register as a hiker and open the railroad gate, but first has to deliver food to Sauvage by means of a basket with a role attached to it.

After Corobo defeats Long Sauvage, the Mounties leave the area, some of which emigrate to the Kingdom of Alpoko. The railroad gate remains open for anyone to climb the mountain as they wish.

After accepting the God Mountain quest, the billboard at the entrance to the region topples backwards and allows access to the forest "Near Northwest Sobamanjaro".

Trivia

  • During the Long Sauvage battle, there are many railroad gates that divide the phases of the mountain. However, after defeat, the only gate that remains is the one at the Hiker Registration.
  • There are several signs written in Alpokian in this area. The registration desk itself has a small, light brown banner that says "receptionist" or "reception desk" (Uketsuke). The railroad gate has a small placard that says "Enter the mountain!" (O Iremase Maunten). The gym horses around the area have Alpokian numbers on their sides to denote each level of the horse's height, with the tallest going up to 7.
