This page refers to a region without a given name. The name used is therefore unofficial.

The "Black Sheep Plateau" refers to a hidden region in the hinterlands of the Dark Valley in the Onii Kingdom. The area is only accessible to King Corobo after the fall of the Onii King. It is located at the southeasternmost corner of the World.

Geography

To access the plateau, Corobo must take the secret passage to the east of the Thrown Pot Mound and break through the large boulder with a Ripped Miner. This will open up a path along the cliffside which will eventually end at the north of this grassy, flowery plateau in the back regions of the Dark Valley. A large family of Black Sheep UMA are grazing here. The area curves around the south of the outer valley clifftop, which can be only be accessed via some constructible wooden stairs to the west of the plateau. To the southwest is the start of a long, thin coastal road that leads to the first Haunted Zone.

A lower coastline leads out into a peninsula sticking into the sea. At the end of this peninsula is a lone tree. Beneath this tree is the Parasol, a weapon. If Corobo drops off the side of the plateau to access this peninsula, he will have to make his way northwards along the coast to reach a slope that can let him climb back to the top of the plateau. However, this path is a trap, as several Yvonne will leap out of the sea to attack on the way back to this slope.

Etymology

The Japanese-only King Story Official Guidebook refers to this area in passing several times, but never gives it a proper name. This specific area is referred to as a "plateau [...] where protective Black Sheep gather" in the Dark Valley section. On the list of weapons, the Parasol is said to be located on the "southeasternmost peninsula, behind Dark Valley".

Little King's Story: The Official Strategy Guide refers to the entrance to this area as the "Dusk Valley Secret Passage". It is worth noting that it incorrectly calls the Dark Valley the "Dusk Valley" throughout the book.

Trivia

  • The peninsula in this region is the most southeastern point of the World that Corobo can visit. It is at the complete opposite side from the peninsula in the shape of a foot in the Skull Plains, which is the northwesternmost point of the World. Incidentally, both are adjacent to a Haunted Zone and have the same music.
