UMA Book Description The legendary fire-breathing UMA.

The Marble Dragon (マーブルドラゴン, Māburudoragon) is a gargantuan red dragon UMA. It resembles a typical fantasy depiction of a dragon and was one of the first UMA revealed for Little King's Story. It can first be seen from a ledge in Torn Forest, or Soldier Town if the area has been conquered.

Some Onii carry parts of this dragon around, as weapons: these Onii are the Worker Onii (Dragon), Worker Onii (Tail) and Dragon Hopper. A smaller version of this UMA appears in a hole in Skull Plains, known as the Mini Dragon.

The Marble Dragon is only encountered once. Once the God Booze quest has been accepted, a gate in the east of the Kingdom of the Jolly will open, leading to an arena with the Marble Dragon. It guards a giant stump that blocks a hole containing the Wine Oil / Jungle Juice. Beneath its feet is a crack containing an Onii Man and the Legendary Staff weapon.

Etymology

The Marble Dragon appears to be named after the marble-like appearance of its body. While the reason behind this design is unclear, it could be a parody of dragons from other RPGs which are usually named after more precious materials, such as the Gold Dragon from Final Fantasy.

Trivia

  • The body parts carried by various other Onii are noticeably bigger than the actual body part sizes of a Marble Dragon, possibly suggesting that there were once Marble Dragons even bigger than the one in the Kingdom of the Jolly.
  • The fact that there is only one Marble Dragon left could be due to the species being hunted by Onii for their body parts. This could mean that, by killing the one found in the Kingdom of the Jolly, Corobo caused the species' extinction.
  • The Marble Dragon's sound effect for when it roars is a stock sound effect of an elephant. This same sample is used similarly in other media, such as the roar of the demon Gamorrah from the Bayonetta video game series.
  • The Marble Dragon's UMA Book art is taken from a piece of concept art depicting various UMA.
